Treat yoself! It’s a common catch cry on the internet. You deserve it! We all deserve the good things in life but I found that after years of overeating it turns out I was always treating myself.
To get through whatever problems or stresses were occurring in my life I would turn to food, to delicious food, cheesey, chocolatey glorious food! Don’t get me wrong I am far from perfect now too but at least I realise where I’m going wrong. Throughout my health journey I keep making self-discoveries. I discovered not only do I overeat my meal portions, eat when I’m not hungry, I also treat myself on a daily basis. Sometimes several times a day in fact.
I believe that you can’t resolve an issue until you fully understand it. You can go on a restrictive diet and lose weight but you are still you and you still have all the patterns and behaviours you used to have, you have to change your mindset if you want a lasting change. That rings true for anything you are trying to overcome or achieve in life. That’s it, that’s all I got.
