The 7 minute Workout That Everyone Can Do

Finding time to exercise can be the biggest barrier to getting fit or losing those few extra kilos you’ve been trying to shake all year. Working out at home can be a good option if you’re finding it hard to get to the gym. It can be hard to maintain your enthusiasm for home workouts though, especially if you’ve had a long day and the couch looks more inviting.

A good compromise might be a short workout that you won’t dread all day. You may have heard of the 7 minute workout, it sounds too good to be true but it does actually work you hard and if you keep at it will help you achieve your fitness and weight loss goals. The concept behind the workout is high intensity interval training, short intense bursts of movement that increase fitness and burn more calories over a shorter period of time.

There are several apps on the market that can help you with your workout. A good free one that does the job very well is the J&J Official 7 Minute Workout. The app features 72 different exercises and 22 workouts that you can customise to create over 1000 different variations. The Smart Workout feature gauges your fitness and motivation levels and creates a variety of workouts tailored specifically for you. The app also lets you listen to music from your library while you workout so you can put your favourite high intensity tune on to pump you up while you work out.

The J&J Official 7 minute Workout app also has several features designed to keep you motivated, like reminders and achievement notifications. Sharing your workouts on Social Media with your friends and followers can also keep you motivated to keep going, this app allows you to share via Facebook and Twitter. You can also link it with your Apple Watch and integrate with your iPhone Health App, I am an Android woman so I haven’t tried this feature but it sounds useful if you have apple products!

Most of us should be able to find seven minutes a day to fit this workout in to our lives. I prefer to do it in the morning, it gives me energy to start my day and I’m usually pretty worn out by the evening after all the day’s activities. The only thing left for you to do it try it!
